Each year 1st Lightwater Scouts, Explorers and many affiliated helpers come out in all weathers to transform the Jubilee Field (behind All Saints Church) into a spectacular fireworks display and uniquely themed bonfire event. Complete with BBQ food and refreshments, music and treats making for a great family night out.
All proceeds are invested back into future bonfire events as well as supporting Lightwater Scouts to maintain their facilities.
What has been built before?
The unique theme of the bonfire is chosen by our Supporters committee each year and usually celebrates an anniversary or something symbolic that’s happened that year. The Scouts get busy in the run up to the event making various props for it. The bonfire became themed many decades ago, when Lightwater Scouts took over the running of the event.
