Bonfire 2019 Beatles: 50 years of ‘Abbey Road’

50 Years of Abbey Road, the Beatles no.1 album, was the theme of the 2019 bonfire. Abbey Road Studios was the large part of the bonfire. Alongside a Yellow Submarine, Cavern Club, Octopus, Abbey Road sign, a level crossing and a drum set. Not bad when you consider the majority of it was built in the rain!

It is such a tremendous team effort and we would like to say a very big thank you to – Windlesham Parish Council whose grounds we use; George Arthurs whose burgers and sausages always delight all that eat them; Wooldridge who kindly donated the skip; St John Ambulance for all they do; The Firework team; The Bonfire builders; The wood collectors; The BBQ team who flip so many burgers; The DJ; The entrance gate helpers; The Catering team; The safety crew; Our electrician and lighting experts; Our local vicar for lighting the fire and looking amazing as John Lennon; The Explorers and their great glowing toys…and of course all of the amazing volunteers who came to help set up on the day or helped us to clear up. Finally it wouldn’t be right if we didn’t mention our very own Scouts, who put their all into making this event so special.
