Lightwater’s community spirit is always demonstrated so well on Remembrance Sunday, as so many from the village come together at the central memorial to pay their respects. It is such a proud experience – proud of those that gave so much for our freedom and safety, proud of our Scouts for the respect they show and proud of being part of such a caring community.
Celebrating 50 years since the first colour television Lightwater Scouts built a giant TV set, standing on just four small legs! Complete with aerial and a vase of flowers on top it was truly unique. Complete with a very impressive firework display, BBQ and hot drinks, glo sticks and great music. Gru and his minnions even made an appearance! A very big thank you to everyone that made it possible ad to everyone that came to watch – you’ve truly made a difference to scouting!
To see how it was built take a look at some of the photos in this article or WATCH OUR VIDEO.
Both our Beaver colonies came together to understand hearing dogs and the role they play in society.
Our Beavers and Cubs have recently been practicing their camouflage skills, using their self made ghillie suits. Watch out when you are in the Country Park… the bush might be twitching for a reason! A huge thank you to our Beaver leader Leigh who helped us to simply ‘disappear’!
