Scoutabout 2017 – 6500 Surrey Scouts and Guides

Every 3 years Surrey Scouts and Guides gather to participate in over 400 activities. This year 195 Scouts from Surrey Heath (including Lightwater) had an amazing time – canoeing, driving, caving, shooting, crafting, parascending etc etc! Lightwater leaders ran a stocks and sponges activity – you can see our Endeavour leader getting a soaking below!

This years event was bigger than ever, with ~6500 on camp. ~1500 of which were adults in Surrey – volunteering to make the world a better place through scouting. Thank you …we loved it!

Our Cub pack is closing

Our Cub Pack will close at the end of this term unless we can find helpers – a real loss for Lightwater!

We have a great team here at Lightwater, supporting our local youth. With regular moments of laughter, alongside guaranteed moments that will make you stop, think and realise how amazing you are. There is no need to become a full leader in uniform  – unless you want to : ).  We are just after some extra help during term times for this cub pack. We recognise everyone is busy and we can be very flexible!  Thank you in advance.

Our Beavers ‘Go Wild’

Beavers from all over Surrey gather to ‘Go Wild’. Lodge Leaders (or eldest) camping for one night, with a wide range of activities – including our brand new ghillie suits – perfect for all our scouts to camouflage …so watch out when you are next in the park! : )    Learning new skills and meeting fellow Beavers from across our County, our Beavers loved the first ever Surrey County Beaver camping trip!
