50 Years of Abbey Road, the Beatles no.1 album, was the theme of the 2019 bonfire. Abbey Road Studios was the large part of the bonfire. Alongside a Yellow Submarine, Cavern Club, Octopus, Abbey Road sign, a level crossing and a drum set. Not bad when you consider the majority of it was built in the rain! (more…)
Summer 2019 Camp was in the Ardeche region, South France. Where 40 Lightwater Scouts, Explorer Scouts and their leaders spent the week making memories to last a lifetime. A 24km paddle along the River Ardeche was certainly the highlight of the trip, but according to our scouts they also loved sleeping out under the incredible starlit sky and watching the many shooting stars. Just goes to show that the most expensive activities aren’t always the best! We also enjoyed many team games such as orienteering, rafting, kayaking, large team puzzles and climbing. (more…)
Wow! Ten of our cubs all got the top award in their section recently – silver. We’ve also had many beavers gain their bronze award and a number of scouts receive their gold award. Well done all!
To top it all our scouts are also the current winners of the District Trophy having won it from 4th Frimley in a pioneering trebuchet challenge. (more…)
