COVID-19 is the biggest crisis we’ve faced in a generation

Right now, over 500 Scout groups – many of them based in communities that were already made vulnerable before the virus hit – are struggling. If these groups close, thousands of young people will miss out on all the life-changing skills and experiences being a Scout can bring, precisely when they need us most.

That’s why we called on all Scouts – and the people who care about them – to join us in a sponsored, virtual #RaceRoundTheWorld. All 43,000 miles of it.

What did we do?

How do I benefit from this?

• 20% of any money raised will go straight into your very own ‘1st Lightwater Scouts’, who without your ‘Subs’ this year are still funding your scouts insurance, national contribution and building running costs. We also lost our main fundraiser – the bonfire and fireworks : (
• If you are a 1st Lightwater Scout and raise £3 (or more) you’ll receive the badge. You will need to let us know you’ve done this, so contact your leader.
• Feel good! You’re amazing supporting fellow scouts in extreme circumstances.
